Lost Your Exam Entry Proof? School and Private Candidate Steps

TestPapersFree · 2026-10-28 10:00:34

Use the official replacement route

A Singapore student asked whether a school could replace a lost entry proof before an H1 Chinese examination. It is an older discussion, dated October 2025, and the replies include unverified suggestions about printing charges. The current official guidance is more useful: school candidates should approach their school, while private candidates can obtain the available softcopy through SEAB’s Candidates Portal.

School candidates: tell the school promptly

SEAB’s replacement FAQ directs school candidates to request a replacement from their school. Contact the teacher or school office through the established channel as soon as you discover the problem. Explain which examination and paper are affected, and ask where and when to collect the replacement.

Do not assume that another student’s account establishes the printing fee, office opening time or documents your school will require. If the examination is soon, communicate the urgency clearly and follow the instructions given. Do not skip the examination or change venue on the basis of a forum reply.

Private candidates: retrieve the available official copy

SEAB says private candidates can download a softcopy from the Candidates Portal when it is available online. Its private-candidate guide also instructs candidates to print the entry proof for attendance verification. Start from the official SEAB website rather than a search advertisement or an unfamiliar login link.

If the document is unavailable or your details appear incorrect, use SEAB’s official contact route. Keep separate practical or oral examination notifications where applicable, and follow the arrangements issued for the particular paper. A general timetable is not a substitute for checking your own assigned details.

Check the replacement before packing it

Read the name, examination, subject and paper information carefully. Confirm the date, venue and reporting instructions against the latest official information you have received. Pack the identification and equipment specified for your candidate category. This article does not promise entry without the required verification; examination staff’s instructions govern what happens at the centre.

Keep documents in a dedicated folder that is easy to find. If you retain a private digital backup, protect it because it may contain personal information. Never post an unredacted entry proof in a public discussion to ask whether it looks correct. Send any necessary details only through the school’s or SEAB’s official channel.

Resolve administration before returning to revision

Once you have a clear replacement plan, write down the next action and stop repeatedly searching conflicting anecdotes. Parents can help with contact details or printing while the student prepares calmly for the paper. Avoid promising an instant replacement if the relevant office has not confirmed one.

For further study, choose selected questions from our Secondary collections or JC papers, as appropriate. These resources support subject practice, while the school and SEAB remain the sources for examination administration. Confirm future-year procedures again rather than assuming a 2026 guide settles every later examination arrangement.
