Talent Academy DSA application at SOTA
By: Terry, in Category: SecondaryThe Talent Academy DSA application process for the School of the Arts (SOTA) in Singapore is similar to other DSA applications, but with a focus on the arts. Here is a general overview of the process:
-
Check eligibility: Students who are interested in applying for the Talent Academy DSA programme at SOTA must be in Primary 6 or Secondary 2, 3, or 4 in the year of application. They should also have a strong interest and talent in the arts.
-
Submit an application: Students can download the application form from the SOTA website during the DSA exercise period, which typically takes place in June or July. The application form will require students to provide personal details, academic results, and a portfolio of their artistic work.
-
Attend an audition or interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an audition or interview at SOTA. The audition or interview may involve a performance or presentation of the student's artistic work, as well as a discussion of their interest and passion for the arts.
-
Receive a notification of outcome: SOTA will notify students of the outcome of their application in August. Successful candidates will receive a conditional offer of a place in the Talent Academy programme, subject to their PSLE or O-Level results meeting the minimum requirements.
-
Accept the offer: If a student is offered a place in the Talent Academy programme, they will need to accept the offer by the deadline given by SOTA.
It's important to note that the DSA programme is not the only pathway to admission to SOTA, and students can also apply through the school's centralised admission exercise (CAE) based on their PSLE or O-Level results.
